Inca and Rayas, two male penguins, have always wanted to begin a family together. For more than six years, Inca and Rayas would build a nest, hoping an egg would find its way to their nest, only to be disappointed.
But now, staff members at the zoo have given the couple an egg to call their own. ?We wanted them to have something to stay together for ? so we got an egg. Otherwise they might become depressed,? zookeeper Yolanda Martin tells the Telegraph.
It?s time for Inca and Rayas to ditch Pottery Barn and settle in for a year of diapers, baby formula, and sleep deprivation.
