Twitter's working on making it easier to report abusive jerks

After multiple threats were made against a feminist campaigner via Twitter, tens of thousands signed a petition calling for the social network to make it easier to report abusive tweets. According to Twitter, a feature is already in the works.

"The ability to report individual Tweets for abuse is currently available on Twitter for iPhone, and we plan to bring this functionality to other platforms, including Android and the web," a Twitter spokesperson told NBC News. "[W]e have rules which people agree to abide by when they sign up to Twitter," he added after declining to comment on specific situations. "We will suspend accounts that once reported to us, are found to be in breach of our rules. We encourage users to report an account for violation of the Twitter rules by using one of our report forms."

The petition was inspired by Caroline Criado-Perez, who helped lobby the Bank of England to make novelist Jane Austen the new face of the country's ten-pound bill. After the campaign succeeded, she saw a great number of threatening tweets addressed to her and on Sunday, British police arrested a man in connection to some of these online threats. In the meantime, over 60,000 people signed the petition on Change.org, demanding that Twitter add a "report abuse" button to individual tweets (which the social network already added to the Twitter for iPhone app earlier this month).

While the new button does indeed make reporting abusive tweets a quick and simple process, it does also make it easier for malicious users to falsely report someone in an attempt to have his or her account suspended. We'll have to wait and see how Twitter prevents abuse of the feature intended to curb abuse.

Bombings and shootings kill 28 across Iraq

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - At least 28 people were killed in bombings and shootings across Iraq on Thursday, police said.

In the deadliest attack, a bomb in a parked car exploded in a busy market killing 14 people in central Muqdadiya, 80 km (50 miles) northeast of the capital Baghdad, police said.

A bomb placed in a garden where people were celebrating a wedding exploded killing four people the Amiriya District of Baghdad.

Gunmen using silenced weapons shot dead four young men in four separate incidents in Baghdad.

In Madaen, about 30 km (20 miles) southeast of Baghdad, a roadside bomb planted near a cafe went off, killing three people.

Militants killed a police officer in the northern city of Mosul, while a child died in a roadside bombing, and a civil servant was also shot dead in the east of the city.

More than 750 people have been killed in militant attacks in Iraq so far in July, according to violence monitoring group Iraq Body Count.

The steady deterioration of security in Iraq was highlighted by a mass jailbreak near the capital on Sunday when around 500 convicts, including senior al Qaeda operatives, escaped after militants attacked two prisons.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, which was formed through a merger between al Qaeda's Syrian and Iraqi branches, claimed responsibility for the raids and said it had freed its jailed comrades after months of preparation.

One security official told Reuters on Tuesday that some of the escaped inmates were heading to Syria to join the ranks of the mainly Sunni rebels fighting to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad, whose Alawite sect derives from Shi'ite Islam.

Shi'ite fighters from Iraq have also joined the conflict on Assad's side, along with Lebanese militia Hezbollah.

Insurgents in Iraq have been recruiting from the country's Sunni minority, which increasingly resents Shi'ite domination since the U.S.-led invasion that toppled dictator Saddam Hussein in 2003.

Sony reportedly planning Gran Turismo movie with producers of The Social Network

While it's not the Mario Kart movie we'd all been hoping for (c'mon, right?,) it's arguably the next best thing. Sony is reportedly developing a film about that other petrol head game -- Gran Turismo. It's claimed that Mike de Luca and Dana Brunetti (The Social Network / Fifty Shades of Grey) are onboard with the project, which no doubt hopes to capitalize on the PlayStation title's solid following. That or Sony got sick of waiting for a certain other series to end before pursuing the idea. While we're not suggesting that our plot expectations are low, there's still hope other game crossovers might give us some faith in the format first.

Allegheny-Kiski Valley Heritage Museum gets boost with new windows

The Allegheny-Kiski Valley Heritage Museum needed new windows, but faced the problems and cost associated with replacing them while preserving the building's character.

The Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County solved those problems, approving an $84,000 grant for new energy-efficient windows at the museum along Seventh Avenue in Tarentum.

The aluminum-framed windows will replace the single panes that extend from the museum's ballroom floor to its ceiling. The current windows are original to the building's 1931 construction as an American Legion post and are permeable to harmful ultraviolet rays, according to Dolly Mistrik, president of the Allegheny-Kiski Valley Historical Society.

?Some of the artifacts we have are really delicate and the sun rays coming through can damage and destroy them,? she said. ?The new windows are UV-reflective, so we can put a lot more out on display and expose people to more of our collection.?

The ballroom in which the windows will be installed holds many artifacts relating to military, labor, union and industrial history in the region.

Dennis Davin, the county's director of economic development, said the grant was approved because the authority believes the museum plays a key role in attracting visitors to the neighborhood.

?One of the aspects we focus on in our assessments is tourism,? he said. ?We thought that securing the property and the artifacts inside was imperative in bringing people into the area who will invest in local businesses.?

The county's investment is projected to pay dividends for the museum itself, as well.

With a spray-applied, acrylic extrusion coating from PPG Industries, the Traco-made windows are designed to optimize energy efficiency. Mistrik said she anticipates the windows will cut the museum's annual energy expenses in half ? a welcome reprieve for the financially strapped society.

?Everything we take in covers nothing but our operating costs,? she said. ?If it weren't for grants like this, we couldn't survive. We need assistance and support. Otherwise, we couldn't do what we do.?

The redevelopment authority rejected the historical society's applications four times before approving its latest on Friday.

On each of those occasions, the group had jointly applied for financial support on three projects. The redevelopment authority would indicate that the historical society's applications met the guidelines, but denied the requests due to insufficient funds.

That's when Mistrik decided to prioritize the society's needs and apply solely for the window renovation.

?I wasn't even going to turn it in this time,? she said. ?I was sick of getting rejected, and I didn't feel like doing the work. I'm so that I did.?

Aside from the window replacement, the historical society requested grants for central air conditioning and limestone to reinforce the building's foundation.

?The building is pretty much crumbling at the corners,? Mistrik said. ?We need help getting the foundation back in place.?

World War I veterans built the museum as an American Legion Post in 1931 and dug and laid the foundation by hand.

?I consider the building to be the best artifact we have,? the historical society president said. ?Preserving our building in itself is preserving history.?

The window installation won't taint the building's rich history, according to Mistrik.

?The windows will have no effect on the appearance or structure of the building,? she said. ?We could have spent a lot less, but I didn't want to ruin a great piece of history.?

Mistrik said she will apply for air-conditioning and limestone grants separately through the county in the coming weeks.

Former MVP Ryan Braun suspended for rest of season

NEW YORK (AP) ? Former National League MVP Ryan Braun was suspended without pay for the rest of the season and the postseason Monday in the first penalty of baseball's investigation of players reportedly tied to a Florida clinic accused of distributing performance-enhancing drugs.

Braun accepted the penalty.

"I am not perfect. I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions," he said in a statement.

Major League Baseball attempted to suspend Braun for a positive drug test following the 2011 season, but an arbitrator overturned the penalty because the Milwaukee star's urine sample was not handled as specified by baseball's drug agreement.

Braun, injured Yankees star Alex Rodriguez and more than a dozen players were targeted by MLB following a report by Miami New Times in January that they had been connected with Biogenesis of America, a now-closed anti-aging clinic.

MLB Commissioner Bud Selig announced the penalty Monday, citing Braun for multiple unspecified "violations" of baseball's drug program and labor contract. Braun will miss the Milwaukee Brewers' final 65 games without pay, costing him about $3 million of his $8.5 million salary.

Under the agreement reached by MLB and the players' association the specifics of Braun's admission won't be made public.

"We commend Ryan Braun for taking responsibility for his past actions," said Rob Manfred, MLB's executive vice president for economics and league affairs. "We all agree that it is in the best interests of the game to resolve this matter. When Ryan returns, we look forward to him making positive contributions to Major League Baseball, both on and off the field."

Union head Michael Weiner said in a statement: "I am deeply gratified to see Ryan taking this bold step. It vindicates the rights of all players under the joint drug program. It is good for the game that Ryan will return soon to continue his great work both on and off the field."

Braun's acceptance of a suspension marks a 180-degree turnaround from his defiant spring training news conference in Phoenix last year, after his 50-game ban was overturned.

"We won," he said then, "because the truth is on my side. The truth is always relevant, and at the end of the day, the truth prevailed."

Study: Higher caloric diets are safe and reduce length of stay in ...

Patients hospitalized for anorexia nervosa?need more than a balanced diet. They require nutrients so their body can halt weight loss and reverse the harmful effects of malnutrition. But once starving patents resumes eating, they can suffer from a deadly imbalance of electrolytes known as refeeding syndrome.

Refeeding syndrome was first described by doctors treating the multitudes of starving and malnourished patients created by World War II. Today, refeeding syndrome is a concern for people with severe anorexia nervosa, and other malnourished patients such as those with kwashiokor, end stage cancer, or inflammatory bowel disease.

When a person is starving, sugar and electrolytes, such as potassium, magnesium, and phosphate, are in short supply. Refeeding causes the few electrolytes the patient has to move from the bloodstream into their body?s cells. This electrolyte imbalance can cause cardiac arrest, pulmonary edema, seizures, coma, and death.

To avoid the risk of refeeding syndrome, doctors often err on the side of caution by prescribing lower-calorie diets for malnourished patients as recommended by international guidelines. But, according to new Stanford research, the fastest road to recovery for teens hospitalized with anorexia nervosa may be to start treatment with higher ? not lower ? calorie diets. This research is important because it confirms the findings of a recent smaller-scale study, and upends the long-held belief that high-calorie diets are a shock to the system for anorexic patients.?

I?recently spoke with lead author Neville Golden, MD,?chief of adolescent medicine and?a Lucile Packard Children?s Hospital pediatrician, to learn the story behind the study that he and his team describe in this month?s Journal of Adolescent Health. Golden explained that the causes of refeeding syndrome are not as well understood as its symptoms. A popular perception is that refeeding syndrome is simply the result of feeding a patient too much too fast, but Golden and his team think otherwise.

?We agree that?s its extremely important to monitor for refeeding syndrome and to treat it early. The issue is the predictors of refeeding syndrome are the degree of malnutrition, and not the amount of calories prescribed,? he said.

For the study, Golden and his?team reviewed the medical records from 310 anorexia nervosa patients between the ages of ten and twenty. Of these patients, 222 were given higher-calorie diets as soon as they were hospitalized for treatment, while 88 patients were given lower-calorie diets as recommended by international guidelines. None of the patients developed refeeding syndrome, and the researchers found no evidence of an association between higher-calorie intake and the syndrome.

?What we?[also]?found is that by starting patients on a higher amount of calories, their length of stay was shorter, allowing patients to get back home to their families where they can get back into treatment,? says Golden.

?For adolescents, family based treatment ? where the parents take control of the refeeding ? is the most effective kind of treatment. So it makes sense to get the patient home as soon a possible,? says Golden. ??Even reducing the length of stay for three days would be a tremendous benefit for patients and would reduce health care costs.?

This is significant because according to the Agency for Healthcare and Research Quality, hospitalizations for eating disorders may be on the rise. For the study period of 1999-2000 and 2005-2006, the agency found that the number of hospitalizations related to eating disorders, and anorexia nervosa increased 18 and 17 percent respectively.

Holly MacCormick?is a writing intern in the medical school?s Office of Communication & Public Affairs. She is a graduate student in ecology and evolutionary biology at University of California-Santa Cruz.

In Louisiana, the wife of a former soldier is scaling back on Facebook posts and considering unfriending old acquaintances, worried an innocuous joke or long-lost associate might one day land her in a government probe. In California, a college student encrypts chats and emails, saying he's not planning anything sinister but shouldn't have to sweat snoopers. And in Canada, a lawyer is rethinking the data products he uses to ensure his clients' privacy.

As the attorney, Chris Bushong, put it: "Who wants to feel like they're being watched?"

News of the U.S. government's secret surveillance programs that targeted phone records but also information transmitted on the Internet has done more than spark a debate about privacy. Some are reviewing and changing their online habits as they reconsider some basic questions about today's interconnected world. Among them: How much should I share and how should I share it?

Some say they want to take preventative measures in case such programs are expanded. Others are looking to send a message ? not just to the U.S. government but to the Internet companies that collect so much personal information.

"We all think that nobody's interested in us, we're all simple folk," said Doan Moran of Alexandria, La. "But you start looking at the numbers and the phone records ... it makes you really hesitate."

Last month former government contractor Edward Snowden leaked documents revealing that the National Security Agency, as part of its anti-terrorism efforts, had collected the phone records of millions of Americans. A second NSA program called PRISM forces major Internet firms to turn over the detailed contents of communications such as emails, video chats, pictures and more.

Moran's husband, an ex-Army man, already was guarded about using social media. Now she is looking through her Facebook "friends" to consider whom to delete, because she can't know what someone in her network might do in the future. Moran said she's uneasy because she feels unclear about what the NSA is keeping and how deep the agency's interests might go.

In Toronto, attorney Bushong let a free trial of Google's business applications expire after learning about PRISM, under which the NSA seized data from Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook and AOL. Bushong is moving to San Diego in August to launch a tax planning firm and said he wants to be able to promise confidentiality and respond sufficiently should clients question his firm's data security. He switched to a Canadian Internet service provider for email and is considering installing his own document servers.

"I'd like to be able to say that I've taken all reasonable steps to ensure that they're not giving up any freedoms unnecessarily," he said.

Across the Internet, computer users are talking about changes small and large ? from strengthening passwords and considering encryption to ditching cellphones and using cash over credit cards. The conversations play out daily on Reddit, Twitter and other networks, and have spread to offline life with so-called "Cryptoparty" gatherings in cities including Dallas, Atlanta and Oakland, Calif.

Information technology professional Josh Scott hosts a monthly Cryptoparty in Dallas to show people how to operate online more privately.

"You have to decide how extreme you want to be," Scott said.

Christopher Shoup, a college student from Victorville, Calif., has been encouraging friends to converse on Cryptocat, a private messaging program that promises users they can chat "without revealing messages to a third party." Shoup isn't worried that his own behavior could draw scrutiny, but said the mere idea that the government could retrieve his personal communications "bothers me as an American."

"I don't think I should have to worry," he said.

Cryptocat said it nearly doubled its number of users in two days after Snowden revealed himself as the source of leaks about the NSA's programs. Two search engine companies billed as alternatives to Google, Bing and Yahoo are also reporting significant surges in use.

DuckDuckGo and Ixquick both promise they don't collect data from users or filter results based on previous history. DuckDuckGo went from 1.8 million searches per day to more than 3 million per day the week after the NSA revelations came to light. Ixquick and sister site Startpage have gone from 2.8 million searches per day to more than 4 million.

Gabriel Weinberg, chief executive of DuckDuckGo, said the NSA programs reminded people to consider privacy but that government snooping may the least of an everyday computer user's concerns. DuckDuckGo's website warns of the pitfalls of Internet search engines, including third-party advertisements built around a user's searches or the potential for a hacker or rogue employee to gain access to personal information.

Potential harm is "becoming more tangible over time," said Weinberg, who is posting fewer family photos, dropping a popular cloud service that stores files and checking his settings on devices at home to ensure they are as private as possible.

At Ixquick, more than 45,000 people have asked to be beta testers for a new email service featuring accounts that not even the company can get into without user codes, spokeswoman Katherine Albrecht said. The company will levy a small charge for the accounts, betting that people are willing to pay for privacy. As computer users grow more savvy, they better understand that Internet companies build their businesses around data collection, Albrecht said.

"These companies are not search engines," she said. "They are brilliant market research companies. ... And you are the product."

Representatives for Google, Yahoo and PalTalk, companies named in a classified PowerPoint presentation leaked by Snowden, declined comment. Microsoft, Apple and AOL officials did not return messages. Previously, the companies issued statements emphasizing that they aren't voluntarily handing over user data to the government. They also rejected newspaper reports indicating that PRISM had opened a door for the agency to tap directly into companies' data centers whenever the government pleases.

"Press reports that suggest that Google is providing open-ended access to our users' data are false, period," Google CEO Larry Page said in a blog post.

It's not clear whether big Internet companies have seen changes in how their products are used. An analysis released this month by comScore Inc. said Google sites accounted for two-thirds of Internet searches in June ? about 427 million queries per day.

In Tokyo, American expat Peng Zhong responded to the spying news by swapping everything from his default search engine and web browser to his computer's operating system. Zhong, an interface designer, then built a website to help others switch, too. Called prism-break.org, the site got more than 200,000 hits in less than a week after Zhong announced it on social networks.

Since then, Zhong said he's seen numerous people talking online about their own experiences in changing their computing habits.

"It's a start," he said.

Folks gather in Three Forks for annual rodeo parade

THREE FORKS, Mont. -

Folks from across southwest Montana and beyond, gathered in the small town of Three Forks today for an annual tradition- the Three Forks Rodeo Parade.

This year's theme was the American Cowboy.

Residents and visitors lined Main Street in downtown Three Forks, northwest of Bozeman.

The Gallatin County Sheriff's Department led the parade, as dozens of floats filed down the parade route.

We talked to locals who say they come out every year and visitors who tell us they wouldn't miss it.

"Just kind of spreads the word that, hey, this is a nice town," says Three Forks resident Seth Langford.

I asked Bozeman resident Graycen Shreiner her favorite part about the parade.
?
"When they threw out the candy," Shreiner replied.

The Three Forks Rodeo festivities continue Saturday night at 7p.

The first Three Forks Rodeo was held in 1946.

Should We Give Pot to Suffering Pets? Animal Expert Darlene Arden Says Yes

Darlene Arden is a certified animal behavior consultant who recently began to advocate for medical marijuana?on behalf of pets. She says her purpose in life is to speak for the voiceless, so who better to defend than our furriest companions?

?Pets cannot speak up and say ?Hey, this hurts,?? she says, noting that just decades ago it was common veterinary practice not to provide any pain medication for pets. ?There was a time when veterinarians would do surgery and not give the poor animals any kind of pain control in the belief that if the animals felt pain, they wouldn?t move that body part.?

Of course, cats and dogs do feel pain just as humans do, and they function far better with pain medication. Arden says pet owners should do everything possible to relieve their animal?s pain. ?

?I think we should be living in a kinder, gentler society,? says Arden. ?Animals need love and they give us unconditional love, so the least we can do is help them.?

Arden is an authority on the care of toy breeds and has written several books on pet care. In lectures around the world and in regular animal care columns she speaks on behalf of our pets. After recognizing the benefits medical cannabis can have for human patients in pain, she says it?s time to think about using the herb to treat pets, too.

?You think about how much good this has done for cancer patients, and yet in most of the country not only is it withheld from pets, it?s withheld from people who desperately need a drug that has been proven to work, because [the government is] afraid of the drug people, the ?potheads,?? she says. ?That means they?re punishing sick people because they don?t want well people to get it. That, to me, is crazy.?

Arden is neither liberal nor conservative. She says she simply votes for whichever policies make the most sense. While she has never smoked weed, after researching the topic extensively she became an advocate. Between the relief cannabis can provide to medical patients, and the negative historical impacts of prohibition on society, she says legalization seemed an obvious choice. ?

When a ballot initiative was up for the vote to legalize medical marijuana in Arden?s home state of Massachusetts?in 2012, she voted for it. While the initiative passed, Massachusetts has yet to open a dispensary due to ongoing rhubarb over regulation and location. ?

Jump over to California, where medical marijuana dispensaries have operated since 1996 when Proposition 215 legalized the drug for medical purposes, and you?ll find a few animals already being treated with cannabis via an ingestible ?magic cheese.?

Los Angeles veterinarian Doug Kramer, who runs the Vet Guru animal center, became the first vet in the nation to offer medical cannabis to animals, he told New York Daily News,?when he treated his elderly husky, Nikita, with marijuana. He said after he gave the dog cannabis, she ?stopped whimpering and started eating, gaining weight and meeting him at the door again.? While the dog passed away weeks later, he was able to improve the quality of the end of her life.?

Kramer also told New York Daily News he believes that the active ingredient in pot, THC, could be the key to mitigating pain for dogs in particular. In an interview with the Missoulian, Kramer said he?d grown ?tired of euthanizing pets? when he thought there was more he could do to help them feel better.?

?I felt like I was letting them down,? he said in the article.

Africa?s institutions endorse AfDB?s Africa50 Fund to support infrastructure financing

Road construction in Africa20 July 2013, Sweetcrude/African Press Organization, APO, Tunisia -- In a joint declaration issued in Tunis, Tunisia, on 19 July 2013, African institutions endorsed the AfDB's Africa50 Fund as Africa's vehicle to facilitate large-scale mobilization of resources and to unlock international private financing with a view to addressing Africa's infrastructure gap. During the meeting the heads of key African political, economic and finance institutions ?pledged to work together towards building Africa50Fund?. ?We, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Dr. Carlos Lopes, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), Dr Donald Kaberuka, President of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), the Regional Economic Communities (RECs), regional Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) and NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency (NPCA), take forward our cooperation in search of new and innovative ways for substantially scaling-up investments in regional and continental infrastructure to support Africa's transformation,? the communiqu? said. The meeting ?welcomed the Africa50Fund as a new, credible and innovative vehicle for infrastructure financing in Africa?. They commended AfDB's initiative, ?which is essential vehicle for ensuring that the vision and goals of the Africa Agenda 2063 on the delivery of regional transformational infrastructure projects is achieved.? The Africa50 Fund will be innovative in its design and structure, leveraging infrastructure financing resources from sources as diverse as African central bank reserves, African pension funds, African sovereign wealth funds, the African Diaspora, and high net worth individuals on the continent. It was endorsed in May 2013 by the Finance ministers at AfDB's Annual Meetings in Marrakech, is a new initiative that will partner with regional institutions for transformational projects. The focus will be trans-continental infrastructure, including priority projects under the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa. Setting the stage at the opening ceremony, President Kaberuka underscored the critical role of infrastructure in Africa's development. ?The one thing which can really slow down the recent performance in its tracks is infrastructure. No country in the world has been able to maintain 7% GPD growth and above (sustainably) unless the infrastructure bottleneck is overcome,? he said. ?We are today, all sources combined, hardly able to put together 45 billion dollars a year, leaving an annual gap of similar volume. We are all doing different things in our respective regions with new initiatives and funds being created, but let us face it: there is limited additionally and no critical mass,? Kaberuka added. Taking a pragmatic approach, AfDB President said that Africa's regional economic entities, as well as development institutions should go beyond reflection on scenarios for financing infrastructure. They should outline how it will be financed. ?That is the idea of the Africa 50 vehicle. I first mentioned this idea at the SADCC Summit in Maputo,? he said. For Kaberuka, the Bank is ready to accompany African countries ?development efforts with this new vehicle. ?It will be a vehicle which can build on the AfDB track record and financial strength as investor, financial engineer, attract local and international pools of savings, utilize smart aid and leverage that to up our funding of infrastructure. It will be a strongly rated instrument able to issue a bond of significance ? a bond attractive to investors.? Kaberuka concluded by reiterating AfDB's commitment: ?The African Development Bank, given its experience and mandate, will play a lead role, but this is our collective instrument.?

    Literate RP Partner Wanted~

Hello~ Over the several months I have been on RolePlay Gateway, I have been in so many wonderful rps and I've enjoyed every second of them. But unfortunately, it has gotten to the point where, in some of them, people haven't been posting or there has been too much drama in the OOC :/ Or, this is the worst thing that could ever occur *in my opinion*, my fellow RPers have gotten lazy with their characters and their writing. *Sigh* So, this is why I am here: to find a new RPing partner(s) that shares the same passion for writing as I do ^^ Of course, I don't hold anything against my ex-RPers, we all have lives outside of this site and beyond our computer screens *right?.... no answer ._.' * but I still believe everyone should maintain their hardest and upmost effort when joining an RPG~ Even so, I still wish to write (preferably with some literate people) seeing as it is one of my favorite hobbies I have.. So, without further ado, heres what I am looking for in a partner(s):

    Writing Criteria

Posts with detail - Quite self-explanatory.. I'm a detail monster ^^ Where as the Cookie Monster is obsessed over those chocolate chip cookies, I'm a Detail Monster~ I simply CAN NOT tolerate lack of details in a CS or in writing.. it makes me want to cry when I read something dull. ;w; Even more so when people write just to meet a word count. I also prefer if those who are looking at becoming my partner in the future are able to read my post and pay attention to each detail, as well as respond to them properly. ^^ I put a lot of effort behind each sentence when I RP and I love it when people can read and enjoy it~

Literacy - I fully and completely understand that everyone makes mistakes and typos ^^ After all, we are just humans *right?*. But I beg of you, please try your best to spellcheck and correct any words that have a little red squiggle under them... and please read over your post to check for grammar mistakes! I personally do not want to spend twenty or some odd minutes attempting to decipher and decode your post due to atrocious grammar/spelling. >< The only exceptions I make to the grammar rule is if your character is meant to speak slang or is simply designed to be uneducated. After all, staying in character is key~ On the note of text talking: I DO NOT tolerate it. It absolutely sends shivers down my spine! If you are into text-talking (or typing), please leave right now. ^^' Also, for the sake and love of all that is holy (or unholy,I don't judge) in this world, write as though you actually did well in English class or that you show some sign of intelligence!

Smut and the like - We live in a world where sex rules and sex sells. ^^' I know, I know.. it's pretty bad, unless done tastefully. I do not mind heated situations and I'm quite comfortable with writing them (provided that my RPing partner is 18+ *I am 18 ^^*). But, in respect of RolePlay Gateway's rules, all scenes that get too intense during physical contact will fade to black with another one not occurring within the next five posts.. I think.. *goes back to check the rules*. However, there are some events or relationships that I do have a problem with that often occur in this touchy topic. I feel uncomfortable with taboo. ^^' Sorry if that disappoints many of you~ Some of the things that I like to stay away from are: Beastiality, Ageplay (if there is a 1-6 year difference, I do not mind it), Incest, or any thing along those lines.

Romance - I personally, being a female, am a HUGE fan of romance! Whether it be the driving force of an RP or just something that is planned out, I love it~ Unless the story doesn't call for it *I'm always looking for a way to fit it in*, I expect for there to be romantic actions occurring between characters~ Love is a part of life after all. ^^ On the note of how it starts off, the love between characters could blossom throughout the plot or it could start off with them feeling that way...but if not, please do not do the whole "BAM! Love at first sight" and then make the whole plot about them in love.

Characters - There is nothing more than I love in this world than developing characters and making a CS for them XD Each one is a part of myself so I treasure every creation.. as do I expect the same from you~ I also expect for the character to go through some change in a way, be it big or small.. having a character stay the same as the CS for the whole plot is slightly boring. :/

Cannons and Originals - Normally, unless the rp is an extended version of an orignal movie/book/anime/tv show, I'm against using Canons. I love, love, LOVE Originals x3 It so much more fun to see people create their own characters than copying someone else's~ However, if there exists a Canon character that you would love to be (and you think that you can do it rather well), then just talk to me about it~ I don't bite *not most of the time* x3

Cussing - I don't really mind cussing at all~ Sometimes, it helps to get an urgent point across and sometimes, it's just your character's personality. I can't really tell you to change your character but I will say this: if you are going to curse, then please don't cover it up like this " b@!!$#it". Just type it out fully ^^

Well..that what I look for in terms of writing.^^ On the note of partners, as long as you are literate, heed and acknowledge details, and be straightforward with me whenever you get bored and would like to mix things up a bit, then you are perfect~ ^^. Unlike some people, I honestly am not offended by creative criticism.. in fact, I appreciate it. *w*/ I don't mind my partner contributing ideas about the plot and it is encouraged.. I hate carrying most of the weight in RPs ><' Though I do hate it when people just up and disappear when writer's block strikes them.. please do not do this~ Partners are meant to rely on each other and ask for help, not for leaving out in the cold.

    Favorite Topics

?Super-powered beings - I love it when we give humans powers! Who doesn't? After all.. we all secretly wish that we could have the ability to manipulate the weather or seeing the future~ x3

?Anime Series - I absolutely adore roleplaying the plot line of my favorite anime series XD Angel Beats, Black Butler, Inu X Boku SS, Gakuen Alice, Sword Art Online... those are just a very small proportion of what I like~

?Werewolves - Once again.. anything having to do with werewolves has me sold *w*/ I love werewolves.. especially the show Wolf Lake!

?Vampires - Who doesn't love vampires? XD As both a werewolf and vampire-lover, if the roleplay has both then it is heaven for me!

?Maids/Butlers - I got really hooked on this genre through Black Butler and Inu X Boku SS *w* I wish I could have a butler~

?Pirates - Perhaps one of the biggest topics I adore <3 I love the idea of being a Pirate and anything having to do with them has me completely and utterly ready to sell my soul~ .

?Modern Humans - Highschool, college, big city life or small city life.. you name it~ Personally, in this genre, I love boarding schools ^^

Hmm... pretty sure that's all I have at this moment. ^^ Generally, I'm a very laid-back and easy person to RP with and I'm always open to new suggestions or topics~ If you are interested in becoming my RP partner then please either comment here, send a PM, or just IM. I look forward to writing a mind-blowing story with you!
