Olympic medalist Gould to lead US team at mountain bike world championships in South Africa

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado ? Olympic bronze medalist Georgia Gould and fellow Olympian Todd Wells will lead the U.S. team at the mountain bike world championships in South Africa this month.

Gould will be joined on the women's cross-country team by reigning national champion Lea Davison, former Olympian Mary McConneloug, Chloe Woodruff and Judy Freeman.

Wells will be joined on the men's side by Stephen Ettinger, who won the cross-country national title last month, and Michael Broderick, on the team heading to Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

Aaron Gwin, Neko Mulally, Logan Binggeli, Kevin Aiello and Mitch Ropelato will compete for the U.S. in the men's downhill race. Jill Kintner, Anne Galyean and Jacqueline Harmony will compete in the women's downhill event.

The world championships run from Aug. 26-Sept. 1.
